Four Star meet up

Grandpa Gene called out of the blue and suggested that we meet up for Friday dinner at the Four Star. We hadn’t seen Grandpa Gene or Grandma Alice since before we left on our May vacation and we were going to be gone Father’s Day, so this was a great chance to spend some time with them.

Reagan was pretty happy and personable at first when she was visiting with her Grandpa, but pretty soon she got a little clingy and wanted to be on Mommy’s lap for the rest of the night.

Luckily, after we ate Grandpa and Grandma let Reagan get in the car with them and then she was all smiles and more than happy to sit on their laps!! Reagan was pretty fun and seemed to have a great time “driving” Grandpa’s car.

After dinner (and Reagan “driving”), we went to Rural King so Reagan could see the baby bunnies!! She loved the bunnies and was obsessed with pointing at them and wanting to show them to everyone else who walked by!

May books

In May I read 10 books, which is pretty acceptable given that we were on vacation 12 of those days and I was crazy busy with work!

May Books:

Summary

I got hooked on a decent series (DiCarlo Brides) and ended up buying all of the ones that were available! There’s two more left in the series, so I’m eagerly waiting for them to come out! I also really enjoyed the latest Amanda Quick book. Her books had been getting a little too cookie-cutter, but this one was actually a little different (in a good way). The other books were also pretty good, but in all honesty, none of them really stood out. Maybe I’ll have better luck next month…?

Check out the other books I’ve read so far this year:

Just driving around

Reagan loves riding around on the mower and in her wagon. We also don’t mind driving around the yard checking things out! I especially love visiting the pond and seeing how high the water still is!! In general, as a family we like to get outside and enjoy the nice weather in the evening!

Busy day outside

Monday when we got home from work it was beautiful outside so we decided to walk around the yard and check things out. We went out the back door and it was nice to look out over the pool and have the water (and the corn lilies) look nice!

We also walked by my herb garden, which is really overgrown and needs some major weeding, but also has a lot of herbs growing all over the place which is pretty cool!

The wagon was under the back deck, so I pulled Reagan out to the grass and James went to get the lawnmower to give us a ride out to the pond!!

I got out to check out the amazing number of tadpoles in the pond while James and Reagan mowed laps around the pond!

Seventeen months

Reagan Kay is seventeen months old and loves the outdoors and exploring everything!!

Here is some of what Reagan has been up to this month:

  • Climbing: Reagan loves to climb things and is actively trying to get on pretty much everything!!
  • Snuggling: This month Reagan really started hugging and loving on us. She will pull you close and put her arms around your neck and squeeze! She’ll also give kisses and loves getting lots of hugs and kisses.
  • Body parts: Reagan is getting really good with her body parts, but is still being a little stinker about doing it on command!
  • Books: Reagan has gotten back into books and we read a lot of books over our May vacation. Her current favorites have been Goodnight Gorilla and Silly Sally.
  • Talking: Reagan continues to say a lot of different words, but other than Momma, Dadda, popcorn, puppy dog, and no, there aren’t too many words she consistently says all the time.
  • Helping: Reagan loves getting into the tools in the garage and will use a screw driver or pliers to “help” fix things. It’s pretty cute, but I worry about her running around with real tools.
  • Playing: Reagan enjoys playing with her toys independently and is quite the busy little lady with all her toys. It’s especially cute because she’s taken to really playing with her baby, feeding it real food, wanting Mommy to nurse her baby, etc.
  • Outdoors: Reagan loves being outside and digging in the sand, dirt, rocks, and everything in between!

  • Attached: Reagan is still pretty attached to Mommy and likes to be held and to have Mommy be with her.
  • Getting into things: Reagan is getting into everything and loves emptying things out! Unfortunately she hasn’t learned to enjoy putting things back yet!
  • Nursing: Reagan is still nursing quite a bit and not showing indication of weaning anytime soon. If anything, she seems more aware of her Momma milk and better able to communicate her desire for it!
  • Solid Food: Reagan is still eating solids pretty well and likes Greek yogurt a lot as well as popcorn still!
  • Sleeping: Reagan has been sleeping pretty good since we were able to get her outside playing in the yard or on the playground.
  • Favorite things: Reagan’s favorite things are puppy dogs and babies. Anywhere we go if she sees a puppy dog she goes crazy and wants to get close to the puppy. Same thing with babies, she loves seeing babies and thinks it’s pretty cool when she can touch the baby!!

Reagan is an amazing little girl and it’s hard to believe another month has passed! We can’t wait to see what next month brings!

Danielle’s Graduation

Sunday afternoon Reagan and I drove to Gibson City to celebrate my youngest cousin’s graduation from high school. March was the last time we’d seen most of this side of the family, but a few we hadn’t seen much longer than that! Reagan fell asleep on the way there and was quite happy to wake up to her Grandma and Grandpa Davis!

It took Reagan a little bit to warm up to everyone, but then she was all over the place saying “Hi” to everyone! Her favorite thing was the open cooler with ice and bottles of water. She camped out at the cooler eating ice and handing people bottles of water whether they asked for some or not!

It was a good time that ended way too fast. Reagan wasn’t nearly ready to see her Grandparents go bye-bye, but they had a long drive ahead of them and needed to get going. Overall it was a good day and a nice chance to spend time with family.

Front walkway

Saturday morning Reagan got up early and wanted to go outside, so we got her dressed and wandered around the front yard checking out the daisies! They weren’t there before we left and I didn’t even realize they had expanded out to both sides of the sidewalk! Reagan was a little unsure about them at first, but warmed up to them pretty quickly and then I had trouble keeping her from picking all of them!!

Settling back in

After the long day of driving on Thursday you’d think we’d take it easy on Friday, but unfortunately there was too much to do! We needed to do major grocery shopping, a lot of mowing, and even more weeding!! The garden of corn lilies along the hill by the pool was so covered in weeds you couldn’t even see the corn lilies. It was actually so bad, James asked if there were any corn lilies left in the garden or if it was all weeds!!

Kona deep into weeding!!

I wasn’t planning on getting the whole garden weeded, but James took over watching Reagan and so I just kept going until I was finished!!
