Summary

After finishing up with my JD Robb marathon (started last month), I started to work my way through a number of series. Basically it started with a bunch of free books that were gateway drugs so to speak to the additional books in the series! My favorite series was probably the Ever Trilogy even though it was kind of messed up (especially the second book), but did have the happily ever after ending!

Check out the other books I’ve read so far this year:

Feeding baby chicks

Friday after work we headed to Rural King so Reagan could visit the baby chicks. In addition, thanks to someone leaving the chicks food out, Reagan also got to feed the chicks some yummy food!

Also, no trip to Rural King is complete with out perusing the nuts and bolts section! This is a favorite for Reagan and Daddy!!

Twenty-six months

Two is such an interesting age and twenty-six months is no exception! Reagan is not only into everything and very busy, but as her language skills improve it is so much fun to hear what she’s thinking and has to say!

Here is a little of what Reagan has been doing this month:

Reagan is big into pretending to get (or give) shots using her medical kit she got for Christmas. The funniest part of this is that she always includes the word “happy” (as she’s telling us what to do) because you are suppose to “close your eyes and think of something happy” when you go to get a shot (at least according to Daniel Tiger).

Along with the pretending to get a shot is Reagan laying in her cradle (the one her Grandpa Gene made for her) saying she is sick and needs to sleep. She’ll have us pull the blanket on over her and give us a very pathetic “I’m sick and sleepy” look. It’s all pretty cute and once again comes from Daniel Tiger, who says “When you’re sick, rest is best, rest is best!”

Reagan really likes to write on paper and then come give it to me (or James). She always says that it makes us “happy!” She’s pretty cute and will coming running into wherever I’m at saying “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, happy, happy” while waving the piece of paper she’s just written on at me. I guess in her mind it makes Mommy happy when she colors or draws me something; which is absolutely true!

Reagan has an amazing memory. One day while we were in bed getting ready to take a nap there was a bug on the wall above the bed. James used a tissue to grab the bug and flush it down the toilet. This wasn’t a huge deal (at least to us) and no one freaked out over the bug or anything like that, but since then Reagan will randomly point to the wall where the bug was and say Daddy, bug, flush – basically her version of saying Daddy got the bug off the wall and flushed it. It’s been weeks since this happened, but Reagan will still bring it up every once in a while completely on her own.

Reagan has gotten more into reading and is still really enjoying her “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie” book. She knows it so well she can tell you what comes next in the story (before you even flip the page) and is also pointing out what the different things are on the pages.

Another fun and busy month in the books! Looking forward to what next month brings!

Shower fun

This morning Reagan decided she needed to wear a shower cap like Mommy!

Fun in the bathtub

Today after work Reagan wanted into the bathtub. Not to take a bath, but just to play with her bath toys!

Reagan was quite into food and “helping” this weekend! She’s such a good little eater!

Roof work

James noticed that after the big storm earlier this week we had some shingles missing from our roof.  Friday he got up on the roof to check things out.

Not only were we missing a number of shingles from various places on the roof, James also realized that the people who originally roofed our house did a crappy job. Yet, that will have to be a problem for another day. 🙁

Rising water

Thursday the weather warmed up enough that all the snow started melting and wow did that lead to some rising water in our creek!!

I took the video above in the early afternoon and by evening the water had raised to where it was out of its banks!

Wonder woman

Lately Reagan has gotten into having Daddy make her bracelets (and anklets) with her name on them. James has been making them out of yellow paper and every time I see them I think of Wonder Woman’s indestructible bracelets! Maybe we have a future superhero on our hands!
