Summary

The only books that really stuck out this month were the Jim Henson Biography – which was a really long book, but really good – and the Love series by M.S. Brannon. The Love series was pretty twisted, but ended up being a pretty good series overall.

Check out the other books I’ve read so far this year:

Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo

Thursday morning we got breakfast and headed to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo! This zoo is one of the top rated in the country and we were really looking forward to checking it out!

We had a great day at the zoo and even though we were tired still managed to make it home that night!

Indianapolis Children’s Museum

Wednesday left for a mini-vacation to Indiana. Our first stop was Indianapolis and their Children’s Museum. Well, technically our first stop was for lunch!

After lunch our next stop was the museum! It’s a huge place and was pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon!

There were a lot of different exhibits and things to do, but we gravitated towards the toddler area because everything was more suited toward kids Reagan’s age.

We had a great time at the museum and it was a lot of fun! Afterwards we got back in the car and headed to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the night and our next excursion – the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo!

Pipe fixing

We lost power earlier this month and when the electric company came to fix the problem we told them to go ahead and drive through the yard. Unfortunately when they drove through the yard they drove right over one of our irrigation pipes and busted it.

The busted pipe had to get fixed, so James dug up the area and using his new (and much bigger) pipe cutter and some help from Reagan, got it fixed!

Play fort

Reagan and James were downstairs “helping” me clean up the downstairs from the party and ended up making a fort out of the big play squares.

Thirty-one months

Reagan is thirty-one months and officially closer to being THREE than two; and no, this doesn’t seem possible.

Happy girl!

Reagan has been really into finger paints and painting this month. In general she likes to do art projects of all types, including crayons, markers, dry erase markers, construction paper, glue, and scissors!

The Clifford Sticker book is still a favorite this month, as well as the Elmo game on the iPad.

This month Reagan has been throwing a lot more tantrums, but is starting to learn that when she throws a fit she has to calm down. Daddy is the primary one who will take her into our bedroom closet (it’s a walk-in big closet) and get her to calm down before they come back out.

Baby marshmallows have been a favorite of Reagan’s this month and she’s been eating them by the handful!

Overall our baby girl is getting bigger and it’s hard to believe that she’s now closer to three than two!

House Party

Sunday we held a 40th birthday party for a friend of ours. We’d been planning this for a while and had been working on the yard and to make sure everything was perfect for the party. The only thing we couldn’t control was the weather and mother nature definitely wasn’t cooperating. It started to rain right as the party was suppose to start and came down worse the later it got.

Luckily we had the downstairs all ready, so we just moved the party to our downstairs! James and the guys grilled the meat from under the back porch and we set the food up along the bar.

The biggest downer was the s’more buffet that I’d put together for everyone to enjoy. Yet, to enjoy s’mores you really need a fire – which isn’t that easy to provide when it’s poring rain and we’re stuck in the house.

We improvised though and cooked s’mores over candles! It wasn’t perfect, but we made it work!!

Unique

Reagan is growing up so fast and it is so funny to see her unique likes and dislikes, as well as things she likes to do. This afternoon she decided she wanted to eat pickles and chocolate chips for a snack on the porch. Yuck! To me it sounded like something a pregnant woman would eat!

Reagan also finds interesting positions to watch Curious George. Today I walked into the living room and found her laying on the back of the chair. Funny girl!!
