Reagan has come a long way since last year when we first got the Eagles Nest for her and is getting up and climbing on it all by herself!
Kennedy also wanted to try climbing, but is a little too small this year!
Daddy also decided to show off his talents and climbed up to the top! Go Daddy!
And before going inside, Reagan had to try out the pool. The water is still pretty cold and James doesn’t have it cleaned out yet, but that didn’t stop Reagan from dipping her legs in!
Wednesday I took the day off and Mom and I spent it getting things packed up and ready to go for tomorrow! By the end of the day we were exhausted so James suggested getting the girls and then heading to Cracker Barrel for dinner!
Reagan wore her crown from preschool – from celebrating her birthday before we left! – and we enjoyed a yummy meal with no mess to clean up!
That night when we got home we continued packing and Reagan enjoyed playing in the box that Kennedy’s portable (for the trip!) jumper came in!
It’s been a busy day and I hope we’re ready for vacation!
It’s hard to believe that 2016 is almost over! It’s been a crazy year and I can honestly say it’s been quite a whirlwind with the unexpected pregnancy and then birth of baby Kennedy! Yet, overall it’s been a pretty good year for the Joneses.
Family Updates:
Reagan will be turning five at the end of December and is in her second year of pre-school at Argenta-Oreana. She loves school and has amazing teachers that know just how to work with her spirited personality. Her favorite things include arts/crafts, playing outside, and her baby sister!
Kennedy is turning four months on the 16th of December and has a very sweet disposition/personality. She has mastered rolling from her back to her front, likes to suck her thumb/entire fist, is full of smiles, and overall is a pretty chill and relaxed little girl. Her favorite things include her big sister, Daddy playing the piano, and Mommy milk.
Kona is keeping busy with her job as Director of Online Learning, teaching Statistics as an adjunct Instructor, and doing extra contract work for an educational technology company (Canvas – the learning management system used at her main job). Kona’s free time is pretty limited, but she enjoys reading, taking pictures, and keeping the family blog up-to-date.
James is also pretty busy with his full time job as Professor of Mathematics, part time position as Internet Systems Specialist, and answering questions and creating/programming “Canvancements” for the online Canvas Community. James doesn’t have much free time, but seems to enjoy working on his tractor and doing other house/outside projects.
We didn’t travel too much this year since Kona was pregnant with Kennedy, but we have a big (3,000+ miles) driving vacation planned for this December! Time to introduce Kennedy to our Jones family traveling traditions and get her state count started!
For 2017 we have some big travel plans in the works for the end of July, Reagan will start Kindergarten (which seems impossible!), and Kennedy will turn one year old! Looking forward to a great year and wish everyone an equally wonderful 2017!

Saturday we headed to Bethany to visit with Gene and Alice before we head out on vacation. The girls had a blast (Gene made Reagan a rubber band gun!) and it was nice catching up with everyone… and we even got to briefly Skype with Jerry and Lawanda who are in China and hadn’t seen Kennedy before!
Even though we won’t be home for Christmas (or most of the month of Dec), we decided to put up a small tree.
Kennedy wasn’t that interested in decorating the tree, but did have some fun with Daddy and his nose!
We’ve come to realize that Kennedy really enjoys playing on the floor in Reagan’s room while Reagan bounces around her talking and doing things!
And it’s crazy how big Kennedy is getting!

We had a busy Thanksgiving weekend that started with us heading to Kewanee… via Krispy Kreme and Chick-fil-a!
Thanksgiving morning we headed to Solon, IA for the Davis family Thanksgiving! This was also Kennedy’s first time in a new state!
After Thanksgiving we went back to Kewanee and had fun relaxing and helping Grandma to set-up her Christmas tree!
I think Grandpa and Grandma also really enjoyed us being there visiting!
On our way home we stopped in Bloomington to visit with Great-Grandpa and Grandma Jones!
Friday night we decided to go to Fuji (aka the baby steak place) for dinner! It was the first time that we’ve been there since Kennedy was super small and it was pretty cool to see her reaction to everything!
Kennedy was actually really good and totally fascinated by everything! She sat on Daddy’s lap and just watched everything!
Mommy had a busy afternoon so Grandma Davis came down and went to Reagan’s school Halloween party!
They then went and picked up Kennedy and came to Richland to see everyone!
My Mom came home with us after Deb’s birthday party and we used this as a great opportunity to take some family pictures at home!
We started with our annual tradition of getting a picture on our porch of all of us!
And then moved on to take some pictures out in the yard!
