On the way home from visiting Joanna we stopped at Venture River Water Park in Eddyville, Kentucky!
It’s been raining and raining and raining… which luckily for Reagan means lots of mud and puddles to play in!!
I especially like this one… you can’t make me get out… well unless you offer me warm milk!
Tuesday evening it was a big quiet around the house because all the family had left, so Reagan and I decided to take a swim!
We had a lot of fun swimming and Reagan is getting pretty good at swimming with a little assistance (like a pool noodle). After our swim we decided to go out and check and water the garden. What a relaxing and nice evening!
Saturday afternoon we took a walk around the yard and took in all the beauty of nature in the summer time!
We started with picking (and immediately eating) some blackberries!
Reagan was stuffing the blackberries into her mouth as quickly as she could pick them and also stealing some from Daddy!
We then headed into the garden to water the plants and check out what was growing! Reagan loved pointing out the baby watermelon and pumpkins!
For our walk down to the pond Reagan decided to take the easy way and ride on the tractor with Daddy!
The grass had grown up on the path to the pond and around it, so James and Reagan did a few laps to make sure it was nice and mowed down!
While they were busy mowing, I took some time to take pictures of some of the flowers that are in bloom. It’s amazing and beautiful to see all the colors and variety, especially because they were all weeds and/or wildflowers!
Everyone had a good time and it was so nice to see everything so green and vibrant!
I think Reagan had the best time though! She loves being outside, so this was just the type of fun stuff she loves!
I haven’t had much luck in the last few years with my garden, but I’m determined that this year I’m going to succeed!! James wasn’t quite as optimistic as I was, but he was still nice enough to till the garden so I could get things planted!
Even though I’m pregnant I think I’ve learned from my mistakes in the previous years and things will work out better this year. In addition, I’m purposely going small so I’ll have less work to do.
Reagan helping me plant tomatoes! I got four different kinds from the Richland Plant Sale!
Is it planting season yet?? I’m ready!!
Saturday morning Reagan and I headed out to the Richland Farmer’s Market. The main reason for going was to buy brats for my Dad for Father’s Day (they have a vendor who sells the most amazing frozen brats), but while we were there we also found a vendor selling strawberry plants! James doesn’t actually eat strawberries very much, but he’s been obsessed with the fact that our garden doesn’t have any strawberry plants. With this in mind, Reagan and I picked out an entire flat of strawberry plants to give Daddy for Father’s Day!
Daddy was pretty surprised when we got them home and went out to the garden later that afternoon to plant the strawberries and build a fence around them!
After Reagan and I checked out the new strawberry patch, we also walked around the yard to visit the baby birds and play in the pool a little bit!
While Reagan played around the pool, I walked around and took a few pictures of the summer time view of the pool area; just something to look back at in the middle of winter!
Tuesday evening I went out to plant some watermelon, pepper, and tomato seedlings.
Afterwards we went to check on the baby birds and then for a tractor ride out to the pond!
When we got back inside Reagan played with her new pony tail holders (they were all different colors!) and got an evening snack.
Saturday we spent a lot of time outdoors. The weather was beautiful and there was a lot to do! James tilled up the empty parts of my garden so I do could some planting.
I had a few rows of corn to plant and a LOT of pumpkin seedlings!!
After planting we walked around the yard and noticed that the eggs we found earlier in the week hatched and there were now four baby birds!!
We also checked out my herb garden, which has really taken off this year and looks amazing!! 🙂
